Take the M6 north and continue on the A74 north when the motorway finishes. Turn off at the second turning at Gretna Green, following the signs to Dumfries and Stranraer on the A75.

Continue on the A75 following signs for Stranraer until you reach Newton Stewart. Shortly before Newton Stewart you will see a sign for Wigtown, Scotlandıs National book town, and you turn left at the Newton Stewart roundabout onto the A714.

After 5 miles turn right on the B7005 to Port William and Whithorn. About two miles down the road you will cross straight over the roundabout at Bladnoch Distillery and over the bridge. Follow the road A746 and after a mile you will pass through the villages of Braehead and Kirkinner. Continue on the road driving through Kilsture Forest and after about 3 miles you'll reach Sorbie.

Leaving Sorbie the road turns left and 500 yards down the road is a turning on the right with a sign for East Culkae farm. There is a Ravenstone signpost, but it can be difficult to spot. Take the right turning and follow the road for about a mile. Turn right 500 yards down the road immediately after the large green wastebin. Follow the drive for 500 yards and turn right towards the houses and the yellow cottage with the purple door is Ravenstone Mains Cottage. Parking is immediately in front of it.
